2023 Corvette Z06 Takes on Dodge Demon In Crazy American Supercar Vs Muscle Car Drag Race

It’s the ultimate test of classic American muscle vs the new European-inspired supercar stylings of the Z06. The Dodge Demon has 770 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine and generates 840 horsepower. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has less torque at 460 lb-ft, but it’s got the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing 670 horsepower.
Thomas and James from Throttle House put the cars to the test in a new video uploaded to their YouTube Channel. The results are… maybe exactly what you think.
How Confident Are Our Racers In Their Cars?
James is in the Z06, and he’s feeling confident. He recalls that the Stingray version of the Corvette has a mid-engine setup and grip that allows you to floor it because it takes off like an all-wheel drive. The Z06 has that extra power, and the CUP 2 R tires mean it does need a bit of traction management, but overall, he’s not worried.
Thomas is in the Dodge Demon, and he is not happy about it. He explains that launching the Demon on an unprepped surface makes it very difficult to find traction. In preparation, he has lowered the pressures, done a burnout, and is running in drag mode. He even pressed the high-octane button to ensure he has that 840 horsepower, but putting it on the tarmac is still going to pose a challenge.
