Luxury cars the likes of Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW are among the most opulent vehicles money can buy. While these European automakers produced some brilliant cars over the years, American manufacturers did their own thing and surprisingly kept up with them.

American carmakers are not especially known for their quality products, with much of the world looking down on the build quality of the vehicles. While this is somewhat true, what cannot be ignored is the value-for-money American cars provide – an $85,000 Dodge Charger Hellcat is just as fast as a $350,000 Bentley Flying Spur. There are a few instances where American automakers spent the extra few dimes and had a go at making a proper luxury car to rival the Europeans.
