The Chiron was inspired by Louis Chiron, a famous Bugatti Grand Prix driver in the 1920s and 30s who won virtually every race he entered, inspiring Bugatti to create an even better vehicle. To build a machine that could reach Bugatti’s desired speeds, a tremendous amount of power was required. The Veyron’s 8.0-liter, 1,183-horsepower W-16 engine in SuperSports configuration was a good start.
