Race for Bathurst 1000 tickets to commence

The race for tickets to the 2023 Bathurst 1000 will commence today with the green flag being waved on sales from 3pm AEDT.
Grandstand and General Admission tickets will be released, but those looking to camp on the Mountain have to wait with camp sites to go on sale in the new year.
Fans are encouraged the get in quick if they want to make the famous pilgrimage to Mount Panorama to witness the Great Race with the 2023 event expected to be one of the biggest ever.
Next year’s Bathurst 1000 will be the 60th anniversary of the Great Race, which was first held on the famous 6.213km circuit in 1963 when Bob Jane and Harry Firth steered a Ford Cortina GT to victory.

Six decades on the first ever battle between the Gen3 Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro will take place on the Mountain from October 5-8.
Triple Eight Race Engineering’s Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander won this year’s Great Race and hope to be the first drivers to defend the Peter Brock Trophy since Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes completed their three-peat in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Despite constant rain and horrendous mud, this year’s event drew a crowd of 195,578 across the four days, not far away from the record figure of 207,205 set in 2012.
