There’s a bit of an unappreciated gem in the form of Audi’s compact sport coupe, the TT.
It is sometimes perhaps dismissed as an aging, faux-sports car, but it was actually a potent little machine especially in 3.2-liter Quattro form and comes with looks that won’t fail to turn heads 25 years after its release.
Porsche’s sports car, the 911, is a much more universally-accepted archetype of the sports car, and it helps that it doesn’t come with FWD or weaker engines, plus it has that timeless design and heaps of heritage.
The good news for the first-gen Audi TT is that its values are still low, and they make for great modified missiles as we will see in the YouTube drag race video courtesy of the Drag Car 4K channel.

This German sports car looks like a 992 model which is only a few years old and comes with a 3.7-liter, flat-six with two turbochargers; it makes around 640 hp.
Power goes to all of its wheels via a snappy 8-speed transmission, so far the Audi TT looks a little out-gunned judging by what we know of its rival – a $216,000 sports car from Germany with all the boxes ticked and ready to race.
