There will be a supercar parade and a toy drive like none other on Sunday at Children’s Mercy Hospital.”We’re planning to deliver these toys in a parade of supercars, exotic cars, sports cars,” said Dylan Hailey, event organizer.Even fire trucks and police cars will be there. It is the first year of Operation Santa’s Sleigh, which is a toy drive for kids fighting tough challenges at Children’s Mercy Hospital.”We just want to make sure that all the kids have that ability to enjoy Christmas even though it’s just one present,” volunteer Lucas Dickinson said. What better sled to deliver them in than a supercar.”We’re wanting to do this event to not only bring some cool cars to the hospital where children can look out their window and see the cars as well as watch all the toys being unloaded,” Hailey said. The group’s goal is to raise around $15,000. So far, they’ve raised more than $10,000 for those toys.”No kids should go without, regardless of the situation. It’s just to be able to have that holiday cheer,” Dickinson said. The car parade is Sunday at 2 p.m. in front of Children’s Mercy Hospital.
