Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice is on leave as the Yakima County Prosecutor decides whether to charge Curtis with assaulting a Yakima County Sheriff’s Deputy. The incident reportedly happened on March 10 at his home in Gleed. Brusic wouldn’t give KIT News a lot of detail about the incident other than to say he continues to consider charges. Curtis is unavailable for comment on the matter.
Media reports and a Facebook post from Jim Curtice say the incident was the result of Curtice struggling with his mental health. Because he’s served in emergency health since a young man his family says he struggles with PTSD and was having a mental challenge as deputies were trying to help him. He was reportedly hospitalized after the incident and is seeking ongoing treatment. The deputy was not injured during the call. Curtice was not ordered but rather made his own decision to take a leave of absence.
A post on the Facebook page of Jim Curtice from Kristy Foster reads;
“I want to thank the huge amount of supporters who have rallied around both Jim and I. The love and prayers of our friends, family, church family, law enforcement family, first responders, medical community, neighbors and even those that we may not know has been overwhelming! From the bottom of our hearts “Thank-You”!

An exiled Chinese billionaire with links to Steve Bannon has been arrested by the FBI in New York over allegations he masterminded a $1 billion fraud then splashed the cash on a yacht, mansion and other outrageous luxuries.
Guo Wengui was detained by agents on Wednesday morning over an elaborate scam to defraud his legion of online followers through sham investments. He’s expected to appear in court today on 12 charges.
The business magnate, who also uses aliases including Ho Wan Kwok, spent the money on a 50,000-square-foot mansion in New Jersey, a Lamborghini supercar and luxury yacht worth approximately $37 million.
He also splurged on Chinese and Persian rugs worth approximately $978,000, a $62,000 television, a $53,000 fireplace log cradle holder and two mattresses which cost $36,000 each, federal investigators say.
Prosecutors revealed information about the elaborate fraud on Wednesday along with extraordinary details about the luxuries snapped up by Guo. Guo is charged alongside his financial advisor William Je, a Hong Kong and United Kingdom dual citizen who served as the fraud’s ‘financial architect and key money launderer’.
The pair are said to have convinced investors to give them cash, which they said they’d multiple into a huge return in what prosecutors allege was a classic pyramid scheme.

Environmental activist Greta Thunberg has deleted a 2018 tweet saying that climate change would ‘wipe out humanity’ unless the world ceased using fossil fuels by 2023.
The Swedish campaigner had tweeted an article by gritpost.com detailing Harvard University professor James Anderson’s warning that humanity would cease to exist if use of fossil fuels was not stopped within five years.
Thunberg’s now erased post stated: ‘A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.’
The article on gritpost.com – whose website no longer exists – quoted Anderson, an atmospheric chemistry expert, where he argued there would be ‘essentially zero’ ice left in the Arctic by 2022.
It is unknown when exactly the tweet was deleted, but it was captured by internet archive Wayback Machine last week on March 7, just before 10pm.

Ferry will join the British luxury brand by early September 2023 from supercar maker McLaren Group, where she has been CFO for two years. She was previously CFO at TalkTalk Telecom Group and is currently an independent non-executive director of British bakery chain Greggs. Ferry will succeed Julie Brown, whose decision to step down as CFO and COO of Burberry was announced in September.
Ian Brimicombe, SVP specialist finance and projects at Burberry, will act as interim CFO after Brown leaves on 1 April.
“Kate has extensive experience of public markets, business transformation and development and an excellent understanding of the luxury industry. She is a strong addition to our leadership team, and I am excited about her joining to support this next phase of Burberry’s development,” said Akeroyd in a statement.
Akeroyd, who joined Burberry from Versace in April 2022, has been steering the company towards an ambitious revenue growth plan, driven by brand elevation, a greater focus on accessories, “Britishness” and heritage. He appointed Bottega Venetta’s Daniel Lee as chief creative officer in September, who presented his first collection for Autumn/Winter 2023 during London Fashion…

Italian actress and beauty queen Gina Lollobrigida, who died earlier this month, was manipulated into giving part of her multi-million-pound estate to her assistant, according to her only son.
Lollobrigida, who rose to prominence in the 60s as the ‘world’s most beautiful woman’ and appeared in dozens of films, died on January 16 at the age of 95.
According to details of her will published in Italian media, the silver screen star split her assets between her 66-year-old son Milko Skofic Jr, and her 35-year-old assistant Andrea Piazzolla.
In the final years of her life, Lollobrigida took legal action against her son, accusing him of humiliating her and infringing on her ‘legitimate right to grow old without being robbed’.
But Skofic Jr claims his vulnerable 95-year-old mother was defrauded by young assistant Piazzola into signing over her assets to him while cutting contact with her family members and close friends.

Milko Skofic, the actress’s estranged son, has claimed Piazolla took advantage of his elderly mother
Lollobrigida (pictured in 1959) described Piazzolla as being ‘like a son’ to her, and says that what she decides to do with her money ‘concerns me and no one else’
Skofic told Italian newspaper La Repubblica this week that Piazzolla had ruined the last years of his mother’s life by isolating her from ‘everything she held dear’.

‘Security conscious’ Andrew Tate had armed guards, hi-tech CCTV and a range of weapons at his secretive Romanian hideout, he said before his arrest yesterday.
The social media star, 36, previously revealed he is so scared for his safety that he not only has his own private army but he also sleeps next to a machete at his £600,000 bolthole.
The former Big Brother star said the guards are allowed to be armed because the property is registered with the Romanian authorities as a shooting range.
The disgraced influencer was arrested along with his brother and two Romanians as part of a criminal probe into alleged human trafficking and rape. Prosecutors today asked to extend the 24-hour arrest by 30 days.
Andrew Tate hires his own private army at the lavish property on the outskirts of Bucharest but they could do nothing to stop him being led away in handcuffs
In the hideout in Pipera, a wealthy area on the outskirts of Bucharest where US diplomats live, Tate is said to have stashed wads of cash, gold and watches into safes the size of fridges and keeps a coterie of supercars.
He told The Times in September: ‘I’m a security-conscious individual.’
The businessman was asked about a clip online of him saying: ‘Bang out the machete, boom in her face and grip her by the neck. Shut up, b****.’
He replied: ‘That was about me sleeping with a machete next to my bed.’
He claims a girl picked up the machete and said he would chop off his head if he cheated, and he replied saying…
