As everyone knows, it’s called the Purosangue, and guns for the likes of the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga Speed, and Aston Martin DBX707. The Purosangue represents Ferrari’s first venture into the world of super SUVs (it’s actually a crossover though), and they may be a little late to the high-riding fiesta, but they should cash in big time.
You see, Lamborghini more than doubled their sales with the Urus, so Ferrari has high expectations from the Purosangue. It targets their usual clientele, as well as new customers, for whom having extra seats at the back, four doors, and a generous ground clearance means more than tackling corners fast in a mid-engine supercar. But then again, with an MSRP of nearly $400,000 stateside, anyone who can afford it probably calls the Roma pocket change.
Unveiled half a year ago, and with production set to commence at Maranello, the Purosangue was designed by Ferrari’s Styling Center, under the close watch of Flavio Manzoni, who has overseen the development of other Prancing Horses, including the LaFerrari. Described as a machine “unlike any other,” it uses a naturally aspirated V12, with a 6.5-liter displacement. The engine peaks at 716 Nm (528 lb-ft), and it develops 725 ps (715 hp/533 kW). The Italian company claims that it will do over 310 kph (193 mph) and that the 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) acceleration takes only 3.3 seconds, or three tenths faster than the mighty Enzo.
Right now, Ferrari’s focus is on electrification….

Every generation of Audi RS wagon near Banff, Alta.sagmeister_potography/Handout
This is an underdog story, but it didn’t need to be. Audi Sport might have been a household name right now, up there with rival German hot-rodders at Mercedes-AMG and the drift-happy maniacs at BMW’s M division, if not for the fact Audi kept many of its hottest cars out of North America for decades.
The result is that the company’s in-house performance-car brand – formerly known as Quattro, now Audi Sport GmbH – has some catching up to do it if is to become as big and well known as its highly profitable rivals, at least here in Canada and the United States.
All of which is to explain why we find ourselves driving what must be the only twin-turbo V10-powered Audi sedan in the whole country right now. This car, the 2010 RS 6, was never sold in Canada, but Audi Sport raided its museum in Ingolstadt, Germany to ship this and every other generation of the RS 6 to this country. Ostensibly, the idea was to mark the 20th anniversary of Audi Sport’s mid-size RS 6 sedan and station wagon, but the brand’s broader mission is to drum up awareness and show that it too, like M and AMG, has a long history of making wickedly fast luxury cars.
Cruising through the Rocky Mountains along the scenic Icefields Parkway, the 2010 RS 6 is sublime. (All Audi Sport models apart from the R8 supercar wear the RS badge.) The car is still perfectly comfortable and rapid despite its age. Torque from the twin-turbo 5.0-litre V10 peaks just above idle, delivering a hefty initial shove before the car continues accelerating until – surprise – this 12-year-old sedan is pushing you firmly back into the seat as the gigantic engine lunges for the redline.
Inside, the cabin’s cognac-coloured leather seats smell rich and feel softer than the hide in newer Audis. This car may look as exciting as a boxy grey suit, but that’s part of its appeal. Most people would never guess this understated old German family car makes 571 horsepower, more than a Lamborghini Gallardo in its day.

Back in 2010, BMW’s M5 sedan also had a V10 engine, albeit with no turbochargers and far less power. The Audi is certainly more comfortable and benefits from all-wheel drive, but its steering is slightly inert and its engine more muted than what I remember of the boisterous rear-drive M5.
Getting out of the…

Lamborghini India has delivered a Huracan EVO RWD to a customer in Meghalaya. It is the first Huracan EVO RWD to be delivered in North-East India. The sportscar is finished in a nice shade of red or as Lamborghini likes to call it “Rosso Efesto” and it costs Rs. 3.21 Crores ex-showroom. The manufacturer is working on expanding its dealership network.
Mr. Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India said, “We are excited to deliver the first Huracan in the north-east region of India; in the city of Shillong. Over the last few years, we have witnessed consistent growth in our volumes from non-metro cities. Taking Lamborghini to these metros has allowed the Lamborghini enthusiasts to connect with the brand and pursue their aspirations more up-close. “To reach these new geographies and segment of customers with dreams and aspirations to own a Lamborghini has been one of the key strategies for Lamborghini India. Our initiative, ‘Lamborghini in Your City’ is a program curated to provide unique experiential drives in non-metro cities where Lamborghini enthusiasts are able to enjoy the driving performance of our super sports cars and the exclusive lifestyle that the world of Lamborghini brings to them. Non-metro cities are one of the fastest emerging markets for Lamborghini and we will continue to invest in creating experiences for our customers in these markets to expand our reach further.”
Specs
Lamborghini Huracan is one of the last cars that still get a naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine. Now, most of the manufacturers have shifted to force induction. The engine puts out 610 PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque output of 560 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels only. Despite being a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, the Huracan EVO can hit a ton in just 3.3 seconds and 200 kmph in 9.3 seconds. It has a top speed of 325 kmph.

Brakes
Braking duties on the Huracan EVO RWD are done by discs in the front and back. There are 8 piston calipers in the front and 4 piston calipers at the rear. The wheels measure 19-inches in size. The front ones are wrapped in 245/35 section tyres while the rear ones are fatter as they measure 305/35Z. The tyres are Pirelli P Zero. There is Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System and Traction Control.
Connected car features
Despite being a sports car, the Huracan comes with Lamborghinin’s UNICA application that enables connected car features. So, you can get real-time traffic information, Geo-fencing alert, car finder, vehicle status report, OTA updates and Alexa integration. Other features include Web Radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and much more.
Aerodynamics
The EVO version of the Huracan was a significant improvement over the regular Huracan. Lamborghini made a lot of changes to aerodynamics. There is a front splitter that channels the air to the engine and to the brakes. This helps in cooling. The rear diffuser helps in generating vertical downforce which helps in increasing the grip of the vehicle.
