When it comes to iconic cars in America, one brand that does them very well is of course Chevrolet. And when we talk about iconic Chevrolet’s, we are more often than not talking about the legendary Corvette. The Corvette has been a staple part of the Chevrolet range since the 1950s, wowing us with its looks, power, and performance ever since. Yes, there have been a few missteps along the way, but what the Corvette has become now is one of the best performance cars in the world, at the fraction of the price of cars from the likes of Ferrari.
However, some examples of the Corvette have been rather overlooked over the years. One of those models we think is the Chevrolet Corvette C4 ZR-1. The ZR1 tag was actually used by Corvette for a period of time up until 1972, after which it simply vanished. Chevrolet perhaps didn’t feel they had a car worthy of the badge until 1990, when the C4 Corvette appeared. What Corvette did though wasn’t just slap a ZR1 badge on a slightly uprated C4 though. Oh no. What we got was the CR ZR-1, and that was pretty much a bona fide supercar.
